Essie Yogaga Limited Edition Collection is a yoga inspired collection with super cute gym names.
Essie Spinning Again is a deep brick-red. It’s also a high gloss creamy polish and it looks great paired with a matte top coat or with flecks of gold or glitter! This is another one of my favorites from this collection.
Essie Pilates Hottie is a beautiful light shade of lilac. Also a glossy cream polish, but unlike the others the first coat was a bit streaky.
Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm is by far the best BB cream I’ve tried. I love it because it gives me great coverage. The other BB creams I’ve tried are more like a cream or primer. For example, I have to also apply foundation when I use Dr. Jart BB Cream because it doesn’t give me that much coverage.
Too Faced BB Cream is more like a super creamy foundation. It’s thick, but does not feel heavy on your skin. It blends away easily, leaving my complexion evened out and fresh. It has light-diffusing pigments that help camouflage trouble spots. It’s formulated with vitamins A & E as well as Chamomile, for oil-free soothing hydration. It offers broad spectrum SPF 20 sun protection.
The best part is the shine control! It gives my face a nice healthy glow without the oil slick effect. At 5 o’clock I’m happy to say that I have very little shine, almost none at all. Beach glow matches perfectly with my skin tone and a little goes a long way. You apply it just like you would a foundation. I also like to set it with bareMinerals Ready touch up veil. This has been my go-to product of the summer, I love it!
Nicki Minaj – the hip hop superstar, tweeted a picture of her new fragrance yesterday. The bottle looks like a mini statuesque figure of Minaj, complete with her signature pink tresses and gold chain.
According to Minaj, the fragrance smells like “angels playing”. Interesting description to say the least, so I guess we should expect a light, playful heavenly scent even though the bottle screams bubble gum!
Named after her debut album, Pink Friday should be available in stores sometime near the end of September. The rapper has had much success with her previous products; like her MAC lipstick and very own Barbie doll, so I’m sure her Barbz will be lining up! I wonder if there will be limited edition sets that include her Pink Friday lipstick and nail color? That would be a nice extra!
Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free Retexturizer is an amazing face exfoliator. It helps improve texture and reveals younger looking skin by removing the top layer of dead skin cells. It’s key ingredient – Dragon’s Blood: a red resin drawn from the Amazon’s Croton Lechleri Tree, helps reduce inflammation and helps accelerate cell regeneration. It’s also formulated with papaya enzyme, glycolic acid, and jojoba micro-scrubbers.
This scrub is the same color as the bottle and smells almost like an exotic fruit cocktail. It has a nice gel-like texture that’s loaded with teeny micro-scrubbing jojoba beads. The directions say to leave it on for 2-7 minutes after you finish scrubbing. I left it on for the full 7 minutes, and boy am I glad I did! My face felt super softer and the next morning when I woke up I had a beautiful glowing complexion. I am truly in love with this product and I plan to try the entire kit.
Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free Retexturizer 60 ml/2 fl oz. $38

BaByLiss Pro offers a great line of curling irons. Their Nano Titanium 1 1/2″ Spring Curling Iron is a great tool to have in your arsenal. It heats up quickly to a very hot 450 degrees. It’s smooth titanium and ceramic barrel gives your hair large luscious curls or soft beachy waves. Nano Titanium is used because it’s a great heat conductor, that means the curling iron gets hot faster, stays hot longer and evenly throughout the barrel. This reduces hotspots which can really do damage to your hair. Titanium also emits negative ions which helps to tame frizz by counteracting the positive ions that are released by damaged hair.
This curling iron is easy to use and has a basic design. It comes with 5 heat levels (250 – 450 degrees) and a turbo heat button which gives you a quick surge of hotter heat. I’d recommend starting with a lower heat setting so you don’t get a crease from the clamp or simply wrapping your hair around it instead of using the clamp.
Retail : $69.99

Both Essie and Avon have juicy watermelon polishes. These polishes are so similar in color, perfect dupes!
Essie Watermelon is described as a “creamy refreshing red.” It’s a mix of red and pink with a super glossy formula.
Avon Nailwear Pro Watermelon is a new shade in the collection and just launched this summer. I’m a big fan of Nailwear Pro, the formula is great and manicures stay chip-free for up to 10 days. This shade is also a juicy mix of red and pink. This polish glides on smoothly and evenly, and it also very glossy.
The only slight difference is that Essie is a bit brighter than Avon.
GLOSS Moderne High-Gloss Masque is a hair mask that replenishes moisture and gives you ample shine. It’s a thick white cream that’s sulfate-free, sodium chloride-free, and paraben-free. It smells like coconut candy, the signature Coco de Soleil fragrance is mix of coconut, almond, and rum. Just massage into shampooed hair and leave it in for at least 5 minutes. Can be used daily or weekly.
I wasn’t too impressed with this hair mask. The product felt good in my hair and smelled wonderful, but I didn’t really notice a difference in my hair. I love products that contain coconut and almond, they are both great natural moisturizers. I’m sure the rum is added for an extra boost of shine; my mom has been making a homemade mask recipe that contains rum for years now and she swears by it. That recipe will soon be added to the Nature’s Best section!
What do you think? I had to do a tight crop because I need a serious haircut!
Bottom line, it’s a good product. It feels and smells luxurious. My hair felt softer after using it, but not much shinier. I guess it takes a lot to wow me nowadays!
Essie Marathin is creamy warm rosy pink. It goes on thick with just one coat and offers a good amount of shine. It’s a pretty fall appropriate color. It ties in well with the rest of the Yogaga collection, even though it’s pink, it still has a warmness and earthiness feel to it. It’s a classic dusty pink that helps complete the range of colors in the collection.
Essie Boxer Shorts is the pop of color in this limited edition collection. It’s a gorgeous deep lavender blue color. The formula is creamy and glossy. You get a solid first coat that’s streak-free. This color is so pretty and really looked bright with the contrast of my summer tan. But at the same time, it still has an earthy richness to it, that richness is what makes it work with the fall season. With its athletic theme, it seems like this collection was launched just in time for the Olympics. I just love the manicures on the Olympic swimmers, have you been watching?
