Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash is great for dry skin. It’s gentle on your skin and not harsh like some body washes that are soapy and overly scented. It has a white creamy consistency and lathers up well. It’s lightly scented with lavender and chamomile extracts help sooth and calm you as you wash the day away. It was nice to switch it up a bit – since I have dry skin I always stick to one kind of body wash, but this one did the trick!
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a best seller because it’s good stuff! I don’t even have to say much about this lotion because it’s been tried and true. It feels light, but moisturizes like a heavy weight. It contains oatmeal to help nourish your skin and keep it supple.
Using both products together has greatly improved my skin. Sometimes we need to shake up our beauty routine to see better results.
Samples of both products will be available in this month’s Beauty Box!
Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty sample subscription box. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of beauty products. Click here to check out my Beauty Box 5 review.

I love Essie’s Winter 2013 collection! Opposites attract this winter with rich shades of wine and pretty pastels. This collection will please any color craving your having!
Just like the Fall 2013 collection, Essie decided to use fashion inspired names in this collection as well.
My favorite color of the collection by far is Shearling Darling; a deep ebony red. It’s the perfect deep wine color. This is the color most of us get excited about wearing in the winter. It’s a go-to – a winter collection wouldn’t be complete without the quintessential burgundy shade.
I have mixed feelings about this one! Essie Perfect Parka is a shimmering cashmere gray. It looks and feels more like a dusty blue color to me. I would prefer in as an accent color as opposed to a full manicure look as pictured above.
Both colors have excellent formulas; with minimal streaking and good coverage.
Can’t wait to try Mind Your Mittens – a black teal shade!

Every Beauty Makeup Remover Pads is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Typically when you think of makeup remover pads or wipes, you think of pre-moistened wipes or cotton pads that you soak with a solution; but these are different. They are dry cotton pads that you simply add a few drops of water to, and poof – you’ve got yourself a handy-dandy makeup remover pad! These are perfect for travel, because it eliminates the need to carry liquids and they don’t dry out like regular makeup remover wipes. Each pad also contains aloe and vitamin E to keep your skin feeling silky soft.
When I tested these out, I ended up needing two pads to completely remove my makeup. To be fair, my makeup was rather fresh. That morning I applied; primer, concealer, Nars tinited moisturizer, blush, bronzer, and mascara. It was a minimal look, but only two hours had passed since then. There is a big difference between removing fresh makeup and 8 hours old makeup! The pad glided nicely against my skin and felt extra luxurious compared to my usual makeup remover wipes. The extra cushy cotton pad was very nice. I did have a harder time removing my mascara, but then again it was really fresh!

I love my IT Cosmetics Power Brow Pencil, so I was trilled to try their latest CC Cream! CC cream is the next best thing after BB Cream. The double C stands for color correcting, it helps reduce the appearance of redness in your skin. It’s also a beauty product multi-tasker, similar to it’s predecessor the BB cream, but with more refined ingredients.
Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream will leave you with beautifully smooth, even-toned skin. It’s innovative formula contains vitamins A, B, C, and E, Hylauronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Peptides, Algae, and Aloe just to name a few. (Click here for an in-depth explanation of these ingredients and their benefits.) It’s basically a suped-up Anti-Aging Hydrating foundation topped off with SPF 50+ Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB Sunscreen. You couldn’t ask for more in a CC cream. It’s also clinically proven to increase hydration in your skin by over 79% – I don’t know about you, but winter is coming and my skin is going to need this extra hydration.
It comes packaged in a pump tube, so you could pump out small amounts as you go. It’s a thick cream that’s highly pigmented and offers full coverage. You could wear it alone or under another foundation. I recommend using it alone and with your favorite powder. It’s easy to blend and glides smoothly across your skin. It has a very faint light refreshing scent, but it’s not noticeable at all. It comes in 5 shades; Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, Rich. I have swatched Light and Tan for you below. This is quickly becoming my go to favorite, I like to use the lighter shade as a last minute lazy day concealer and I apply the tan shade all over.
IT Cosmetics has expanded tremendously since it’s first appearance on QVC back in September 2010. This month the brand is slated to enter 306 Ulta stores across the nation and has plans to roll out chain wide in 2014.

It’s fall fashion made for your nails – Essie’s fall 2013 collection has got it all for you this season. Her latest collection is a mix of glossy shades and metallic dual shades.
For the Twill of it is my favorite shade from the collection. I thought I should start with my favorite first this time. It’s a metallic dual tone of magenta and gun-metal. I love the way it reflects in the light, changing from one shade to the other. At times you can even get a glimpse of a greenish metallic tone as well.
Vested Interest is some what of a murky green color. It reminds me of floral – you know that green cube at the bottom of a flower bouquet vase. It’s also slightly reminiscent of OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques with a little bit of olive mixed in.
The Lace is On - a lovely metallic magenta shade. It goes on smooth and evenly. I noticed that the metallic shades were easier to apply that the glossy polishes.
Cashmere Bathrobe is one of the darker shades in the fall collection. It has a glossy finish with a faint metallic shimmer. It’s like a darker version of Vested Interest.

Well I suppose cold weather is creeping up on us again -_-
I get excited about fall fashion, but not about the temperature dropping. Oh Summer, why must you leave us so quickly! As the days get shorter, some beauty brands are well into their fall product launches. My nail salon has stocked up its fall collection and this week I decided to try OPI Keeping Suzy at Bay from their San Francisco collection.
Keeping Suzy at Bay is a glossy deep ink blue – it’s like a pen exploded on my nails! I wasn’t ready to rock a dark burgundy yet – just like we don’t wear white after labor day, I don’t wear burgundy shades before it! This blue works for an end-of-summer-look because even though it’s a dark color, it still has a pop of brightness. It reminds me of a beautiful summertime night sky. Great color, can’t wait to try more from this whopping 15-shade collection.

Like any other beauty obsessed girl, I was starting to get bored with my medium brown hair so I decided to go ombré. Natural dark brown fading into a perfect caramel blonde – I’m in love! Mila Kunis was my inspiration.
I’ve been highlight free for three years, but I just couldn’t resist. My hair needed an update; however, I hate nothing more than dry, porous, brittle hair!
The Challenge: Maintaining healthy hair during the summer
The Solution: René Furterer LISSEA leave-in smoothing fluid
Not only did I highlight my hair, but it’s summer time! That means: longs days at the beach are reeking havoc on my hair. The harsh sun and salt water are no good! I promised myself I would make it a point to use a hydrating hair mask every other week. But I knew I needed something daily, that’s when I came across René Furterer LISSEA leave-in smoothing fluid.
I use it after I’ve detangled my hair with Matrix Total Results Break Fix Leave-In Elixir. Two pumps and I’m ready to go. Occasionally I’ll use some before I go to bed while I’m moisturizing my face. If you want soft hair, you have to keep it moisturized just like you do with your skin.
This smoothing fluid has natural Alkekenge extract that instantly smooths hair by forming a film around the hair shaft. The Avocado oil nourishes and moisturizes, leaving hair smooth, shiny, and soft. It’s a thick cream that melts right into your strands. The scent is a blend of Bergamot, Ginger, Cardamom, Jasmine, Tea, Rose, Sandalwood, Vanilla, and Musk. I’m a total fan!

This year’s summer collection from essie is a mix of creamy and shimmery shades. It’s nautical inspiration transcends through the color choices and adorable polish names. I’m loving almost all of these shades – the green shade; however, it a miss for me! Sorry essie!
Full Steam Ahead is a pearlescent punch lilac and it’s my absolute favorite shade from this collection. I typically go for pinks over purples, but this shade takes the crown. It is so lush, but yet so muted. You can totally get away with is shade at the office, but it’s still fun and not boring.
Sunday Funday – the name says it all! It’s a tangerine coral crush with a slight shimmer. Perfect for summer fun filled weekends.
The More the Merrier – my least favorite color in the collection. It’s a juicy lime green creamy shade. It would look pretty as an accent color when paired with Sunday Funday or Naughty Nautical; but solo, I think it looks to harsh. I’m not a huge fan of the name either. It makes me think of Christmas and winter, the total opposite of summer.

I’m so in love! I’ve been using Matrix Total Results Break Fix Leave-In Elixir for a few months now and I can’t say anything bad about it. I like to use it as a detangler. I apply it right after I towel dry my hair and then comb it through. It keeps my hair manageable and strong, so my strands don’t break while I’m detangling my hair. It’s a lightweight gel like liquid that melts right in and smells tropically fresh – like a fruity summertime cocktail! matrix better never ever discontinue this product – I’m hooked!
