I know I’ve been posting a lot of nail polish reviews lately, but I just couldn’t end the week with out sharing my Easter nail art manicure
Deborah Lippmann’s Staccato polish in Rockin’ Robin is a must for Easter this year. The black glitter within the mint nail polish makes your nails look just like robin eggs – I’m really loving this effect!
I had to add a little bling to my ring fingers so I chose Essie Bond Over Whomever, from their Spring 2013 collection, as the base color. This Essie lacquer is a lovely pastel but yet vibrant lilac color.
Then my manicurist (I’m gonna start calling her my nail artist!) used pink, teal, and yellow nail art polish to make the lines and zigzags. She then sealed it with a layer of Nicole by OPI Inner Sparkle. The result – a gorgeous little glitter egg!
My list of favorite manicures just keeps getting bigger! Happy Easter!!

I went out last weekend and I wanted a sexy manicure to match my LBD. I had recently seen a pic posted by Kim K. on Instagram of a black on black manicure. I liked the idea of back on black matte – but I wasn’t so thrilled about the french tip design.
I picked out China Glaze Black Diamond – a gunmetal black and paired it with a matte effect top coat. My manicurist created designs using black and silver nail art polish. I am in LOVE – I have not stopped looking at my nails. My nails look soo fierce – like a manicure Beyoncé would choose!

Essie Fall 2012 Collection
Essie knows we are all on a budget! The new Fall collection is inspired by our current economy. In this new economy, fashionistas everywhere are coping with the challenge of maintaining a trendy wardrobe. How do we ever do it, it’s almost near impossible!
Essie Miss Fancy Pants is a fabulous griege color. It’s similar to Essie Yogaga and it’s a great color for the fall/summer transition. You know when dark colors kind of feel too dark because days still hit 80 degrees – but bright colors feel too bright. Creamy gray, beige, and tan nail polishes help fill in that gap of color uncertainty.
Essie Recessionista is a beautiful deep raspberry red. I think this color is so pretty, it’s rich and juicy at the same time. I love the name too!
Essie Recessionista mani with OPI Crown Me Already and Essie No Place Like Chrome
Essie Head Mistress is a bold dark red. It’s a simple basic red nail polish. No big deal here!
Essie Skirting the Issue is a burgundy red. I had trouble getting this polish to go on evenly. The manicure looks blotchy and uneven. Not a fan of this formula!
Essie Stylenomics is a rich like money – a deep dark green. This color is so unexpected and I love it! It’s a bold statement for your nails. As you can see, this polish is super glossy and shiny. Definitely a great shade for fall.

I was feeling a bit nail venturous this past weekend and decided to get an over the top manicure. A manicure design from Nails by Kayla Shevonne was just what I needed! This color block manicure requires 5 different shades of nail color. I chose the following polishes; Color Club All Over Pink, China Glaze Celtic Sun, Essie Status Symbol, Essie Bazooka, and dark blue nail art polish.
My amazing nail tech, started off my stenciling out the sections with black nail art polish after applying a base coat to my nails. She then filled in each section with each different color. At one point we joked with each other because it felt like she was “painting by numbers”.
I love this manicure, it’s so bright and colorful. It features color blocking with a trendy mix of colors. It has the popular summer combo of pink and orange and the up and coming fall shade of deep blue. It reminds me of stained glass, I hope this mani lasts a whole week!
Penny Talk is a shiny metallic copper nail color. It’s like jewelry for your nails because it’s the perfect rose gold. Rose gold is one of hottest trends right now, makes me think of the watch I saw recently that I want/need to get! I just love this color. It looks just like the color of a brand new shiny penny, so the name is right on target. Like always, this Essie polish comes in a great formula that gives you long lasting color. Penny talk would look great in a half moon mani or as an accent nail. It also looks stunning on it’s own.
Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Gloss in Citrus is a sheer neon orange. It’s a new shade that came out this spring. It’s bright orange in the tube, but goes on shiny and sheer. I enjoy wearing it alone and it also looks great over lipstick. My favorite combo is Citrus over Coral Pink Creamy Lip Color. The Citrus really plays up the coral color in Coral Pink making my lips look brighter. The applicator is nice and glides smoothly on my lips, this gloss has a light minty scent to it. I would have preferred a citrus scent to match its name, but that’s okay.
Essie Olé Caliente is a red-orange with a hint of pink mixed in. The picture above appears more orange that what the color really is. I added a photo below taken with a flash, I feel that this photo is a better example of what the color looks like. There is more red in it. The formula is a creamy one, so it is an easier polish to apply. This is yet another color from Essie that fits in well with the tangerine tango trend. This shade is also like Essie Geranium because of the added red color.
What a difference the flash makes!
