Maybelline just launched a new gel eye shadow within their Eye Studio line. Color Tattoo is a long-lasting (up to 24 hours) cream gel eyeshadow that uses “ink technology” to deliver a blast of color to your lids. This product is highly concentrated and seems almost semi perminent. Once applied, if feels light and as if you have nothing on. It looks heavy, but doesn’t feel heavy! I chose Tenacious Teal and Painted Purple to test out.

Tenacious Teal is an electric teal that pops out at you. I love this color and I am so glad I got it! It was easy to apply, I used a flat synthetic brush and used my fingers to soften out the edges. It stayed on all day and didn’t smudge.

Painted Purple is a bright purple gel eyeshadow. I did not like this one as much as I liked the teal shade. This color went on blotchy and I had some trouble working with it. I’m not sure why, since the other color was such a breeze to apply! In order to achieve somewhat of a  “good” look, I had to finish off by patting in the color. Swiping it on was just removing the shadow instead of adding to it. This shade was not as bright and shiny as the teal shade either.

So in the end, I love Tenacious Teal and I need to play with Painted Purple a bit more, maybe it will look good as an eyeliner! Great product for its price.
