This fall Essie wants you to live dangerously and dress flawlessly. This collection is inspired by espionage and the thrill of the chase. Check out my swatches of the best shades of the collection below!
Essie style cartel is a shiny inky cobalt blue. It’s my favorite shade in the collection. It’s very similar to OPI’s keeping Suzy at bay and Avon’s Nailwear Pro in Inky blue. It goes on smoothly and has a super high shine gloss finish.
Essie partner in crime is a creamy rich dark chocolate shade. It’s simply perfect for fall. I’d like to pair this shade with an animal print (think leopard) nail art. It would match perfectly with your cup of hot cocoa on a cold fall night.
Essie take it outside is a traditional taupe shade. I like this one because it’s not too light and it’s not too dark. Sometimes taupe polish either looks too white or too tan, Essie got this shade just right. This polish is grayer than Essie yogaga and cooler than Essie Miss fancy pants.

Happy Easter from The Beauty Edge!
Here’s my last minute DIY Easter Mani! I used Essie Love Every Minute as a base coat and layered one coat of Dior Princess over it. For my accent nail, I chose Dior Lime and Nicole by OPI Inner Sparkle for some added glitz.
In an effort to protect the Easter Bunny ;), I thought it would be cute to share a list of companies that do not test on animals. The full list can be found on Peta.org.

The Essie Wedding collection for 2014 is so delicate and dainty! I was totally excited when these came in, since I’m planning my own wedding (only 415 days to go woo!), I wanted to swatch these cuties asap!
Essie love every minute is a pretty satin rose coral. It’s my favorite color in the collection. It looks like a pastel salmon and it’s a perfect shade for spring.
Essie meet the parents is a cool calm blue, a little too calm for the name I think. There’s nothing calm about meeting the parents for the first time! It is however, the perfect something blue for your big day.
Essie got engaged is a warm nude pink with a “barely there” sparkle effect. I think I found the perfect nude nail polish, it works so well with my complexion because it has the perfect balance of nude and pink.
Essie she said yes is a sheer white color with a subtle silver shimmer. It’s an interesting shade, it’s not very bright, it’s toned down enough so that’s it’s not clashing with the other pastels in the collection. The formula is creamy, but with the consistency of glue. I had to apply three coats, and I must say that it was hard to work with.
Essie Wedding Collection 2014 offers a good range of colors to choose from, whether you’re the bride, a bridesmaid or simply a wedding guest, this collection will get you wedding ready in no time. These colors are also great for spring. Available April 2014.

I love Essie’s Winter 2013 collection! Opposites attract this winter with rich shades of wine and pretty pastels. This collection will please any color craving your having!
Just like the Fall 2013 collection, Essie decided to use fashion inspired names in this collection as well.
My favorite color of the collection by far is Shearling Darling; a deep ebony red. It’s the perfect deep wine color. This is the color most of us get excited about wearing in the winter. It’s a go-to – a winter collection wouldn’t be complete without the quintessential burgundy shade.
I have mixed feelings about this one! Essie Perfect Parka is a shimmering cashmere gray. It looks and feels more like a dusty blue color to me. I would prefer in as an accent color as opposed to a full manicure look as pictured above.
Both colors have excellent formulas; with minimal streaking and good coverage.
Can’t wait to try Mind Your Mittens – a black teal shade!

It’s fall fashion made for your nails – Essie’s fall 2013 collection has got it all for you this season. Her latest collection is a mix of glossy shades and metallic dual shades.
For the Twill of it is my favorite shade from the collection. I thought I should start with my favorite first this time. It’s a metallic dual tone of magenta and gun-metal. I love the way it reflects in the light, changing from one shade to the other. At times you can even get a glimpse of a greenish metallic tone as well.
Vested Interest is some what of a murky green color. It reminds me of floral – you know that green cube at the bottom of a flower bouquet vase. It’s also slightly reminiscent of OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques with a little bit of olive mixed in.
The Lace is On – a lovely metallic magenta shade. It goes on smooth and evenly. I noticed that the metallic shades were easier to apply that the glossy polishes.
Cashmere Bathrobe is one of the darker shades in the fall collection. It has a glossy finish with a faint metallic shimmer. It’s like a darker version of Vested Interest.

This year’s summer collection from essie is a mix of creamy and shimmery shades. It’s nautical inspiration transcends through the color choices and adorable polish names. I’m loving almost all of these shades – the green shade; however, it a miss for me! Sorry essie!
Full Steam Ahead is a pearlescent punch lilac and it’s my absolute favorite shade from this collection. I typically go for pinks over purples, but this shade takes the crown. It is so lush, but yet so muted. You can totally get away with is shade at the office, but it’s still fun and not boring.
Sunday Funday – the name says it all! It’s a tangerine coral crush with a slight shimmer. Perfect for summer fun filled weekends.
The More the Merrier – my least favorite color in the collection. It’s a juicy lime green creamy shade. It would look pretty as an accent color when paired with Sunday Funday or Naughty Nautical; but solo, I think it looks to harsh. I’m not a huge fan of the name either. It makes me think of Christmas and winter, the total opposite of summer.

Get ready to party with essie’s 2013 Neon Collection! These bold & ultra bright polishes will help you light up the night this party season. The collection is a total burst of electrifying color – with hues of blue, purple, pink and green. My favs include – boom boom room (ultra bright party pink), “bouncer it’s me” (vivid blue velvet), and dj play that song (jam-iest neon plum).

I know I’ve been posting a lot of nail polish reviews lately, but I just couldn’t end the week with out sharing my Easter nail art manicure
Deborah Lippmann’s Staccato polish in Rockin’ Robin is a must for Easter this year. The black glitter within the mint nail polish makes your nails look just like robin eggs – I’m really loving this effect!
I had to add a little bling to my ring fingers so I chose Essie Bond Over Whomever, from their Spring 2013 collection, as the base color. This Essie lacquer is a lovely pastel but yet vibrant lilac color.
Then my manicurist (I’m gonna start calling her my nail artist!) used pink, teal, and yellow nail art polish to make the lines and zigzags. She then sealed it with a layer of Nicole by OPI Inner Sparkle. The result – a gorgeous little glitter egg!
My list of favorite manicures just keeps getting bigger! Happy Easter!!
Here’s another swatch from the new Essie Spring 2013 collection. Essie Avenue Maintain is a bold high-shine blue. It’s inspired by Avenue Montaigne in Paris – which is also where Chanel’s latest boutique is located and the inspiration behind their limited edition eyeshadow palette.
This shade is slightly darker than Essie Bikini So Teeny – see that swatch here. I also think it would be the perfect something blue pedicure for all those brides walking down the aisle this year!
Inspired by her travels from around the world, Essie’s spring 2013 collection features a combination of soft pastels and lively colors. Madison Ave-Hue s a beautiful bold pink with the slightest shimmer that only you will notice. It reminds me of pink tulips blossoming in the spring.
The other colors in this collection are also lovely. I can’t wait to swatch Hip-Anema and Go-Ginza!
