Halloween is a great time to go wild and crazy with your nail designs! This gorgeous vamp nail design was created by my nail tech Blanca at M3H Nail Salon. She used Essie Licorice ($8, essie.com) as the base color. It’s a creamy black polish and was the perfect background color for this mani. Next she used red glitter polish. You can make your own with red chunky glitter and clear nail polish. She then used red, black, and white nail art polish to draw the super cute vamp lips! I vote this my best manicure of the year! So in love with my nails, I can’t look away!
Side note – I used my friend’s Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat ($9.99, drugstore.com) and I am officially hooked! I love this stuff! I nails dried sooo fast, I was able to reach into my wallet without smudging my nails. I definitely must get a bottle for my self, I’m too busy to sit around waiting for my nails to dry!
Halloween Nail Designs From the Past
Gypsy Corset Nail Design
First a clear top coat was applied, then China Glaze Twenty-Four K ($7, ulta.com) was applied in a v-shape tip. Black nail art polish was then used to create the laces. They also look like ballerina shoes, right?
Essie A List ($8, essie.com) was used as the base color and then black nail art polish was used to create the slashes at the bottom.
It’s Spa Week! Yay!

The new James Bond Movie – SKYFALL has been all over the media lately. October 5th was dubbed James Bond Day, so it was only fitting to release Adele’s latest single from the movie and the new James Bond 007 cologne for men. My favorite 007 launch was the new OPI SKYFALL Collection. It’s sexy and mysterious just like the Bond Girls. The collection is divided into two main groups – The Seductive Shades and The Dangerous Shades. The Bondettes Kit came loaded with two shades from each side. Let’s Review, shall we!
OPI GoldenEye is a sparkly glitter gold nail color. It took three coats to achieve this level of opaqueness. It’s very similar to the MAC Marilyn Monroe Rich, Rich, Rich polish.
OPI The Spy Who Loved Me is a romantic red. It has a little bit of glitter in it that adds a hint of sparkle. The formula is great, the first coat glides on smoothly and is very bright.
OPI The World Is Not Enough – a gorgeous rosy silver shade. Gunmetal meets mauve with a dose of glitter. It took three coats to get it to look this rich.
OPI Live and Let Die is the color of Bond’s private jet! It’s a dark shimmery black-green color. This shade is similar to Essie’s Stylenomics – but with added specs of glitter.
GoldenEye and The Spy Who Loved Me are both part of The Seductive Shades and The World Is Not Enough and Live and Let Die are both members of The Dangerous Shades.
Can’t wait to see SKYFALL, it hits theaters November 9th!

Essie knows we are all on a budget! The new Fall collection is inspired by our current economy. In this new economy, fashionistas everywhere are coping with the challenge of maintaining a trendy wardrobe. How do we ever do it, it’s almost near impossible!
Essie Miss Fancy Pants is a fabulous griege color. It’s similar to Essie Yogaga and it’s a great color for the fall/summer transition. You know when dark colors kind of feel too dark because days still hit 80 degrees – but bright colors feel too bright. Creamy gray, beige, and tan nail polishes help fill in that gap of color uncertainty.
Essie Recessionista is a beautiful deep raspberry red. I think this color is so pretty, it’s rich and juicy at the same time. I love the name too!
Essie Head Mistress is a bold dark red. It’s a simple basic red nail polish. No big deal here!
Essie Skirting the Issue is a burgundy red. I had trouble getting this polish to go on evenly. The manicure looks blotchy and uneven. Not a fan of this formula!
Essie Stylenomics is a rich like money – a deep dark green. This color is so unexpected and I love it! It’s a bold statement for your nails. As you can see, this polish is super glossy and shiny. Definitely a great shade for fall.

Essie Don’t Sweater It is one of the newest shades from Essie’s Fall 2012 Collection. Don’t Sweater It’s described as a warm, cozy and creamy mauve. It definitely falls in the greige category with a touch of purple to warm it up. I think the name is really cute and appropriate, it reminds me of a cozy sweater. This polish also makes for a great dupe for plenty of shades including, the Yogaga limited edition shade Gym Dandy and the very popular OPI You Don’t Know Jacques. It’s a thick creamy formula that goes on smoothly and evenly. I love colors like these for fall!
Essie Bobbing for Baubles is an older shades – it launched back in winter of 2011, but it still continues to be one of my favorites especially since blue is so in right now. It’s described as a deepest darkest sapphire. I don’t think this color is cool enough to be described as a sapphire. It feels more like a muddy deep blue. It’s a great creamy color and I think it looks great as a ring finger accent color.
Essie Yogaga Limited Edition Collection is a yoga inspired collection with super cute gym names.
Essie Spinning Again is a deep brick-red. It’s also a high gloss creamy polish and it looks great paired with a matte top coat or with flecks of gold or glitter! This is another one of my favorites from this collection.
Essie Pilates Hottie is a beautiful light shade of lilac. Also a glossy cream polish, but unlike the others the first coat was a bit streaky.
