This is the ultimate gentle cleanser. It’s pH balanced, so it doesn’t strip your skin of its natural oils. It’s clear and fragrance free, and also has anti-aging properties , because it’s formulated with Green Tea and Cucumber which are both anti-inflammatory. It also contains Resveratrol to help fight off free-radicals. It easily removes makeup and impurities, leaving your skin in the perfect condition to apply the anti aging cream.
I love the applicator cooling tip. It glides on smoothly while cooling and applying the eye cream evenly. This white fragrance free cream targets under eye wrinkles and bags. The cooling tip helps ward off puffiness and reduces tugging around the under eye area. It’s formulated with Vitamin C Ester, DMAE, and Retinol to aid in its anti-aging properties.
This treatment is lightweight, fragrance free and hypoallergenic. It has a yellowish tint to it with a powdery finish. It leaves your skin like a perfect blank canvas for your makeup application. It can be used all over – under eye, lips, neck and even your décolleté. Ingredients include, Clinical-strength DMAE, Retinol and Vitamin C Ester, CoQ10, and Shea Butter. These ingredients work together to hydrate, build collagen to firm and sculpt your skin. Click here to learn more about these ingredients.
I enjoyed using this trio to combat the signs of aging. Since I’m still in my twenties, I have minimal signs of aging and I contribute that to starting a skin routine early on in life; however, I really enjoyed the quality of these products – especially the cleanser! I like to use it with my Clarisonic from time to time. All three products contain ingredients proven to improve the look and feel of your skin.
Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash is great for dry skin. It’s gentle on your skin and not harsh like some body washes that are soapy and overly scented. It has a white creamy consistency and lathers up well. It’s lightly scented with lavender and chamomile extracts help sooth and calm you as you wash the day away. It was nice to switch it up a bit – since I have dry skin I always stick to one kind of body wash, but this one did the trick!
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a best seller because it’s good stuff! I don’t even have to say much about this lotion because it’s been tried and true. It feels light, but moisturizes like a heavy weight. It contains oatmeal to help nourish your skin and keep it supple.
Using both products together has greatly improved my skin. Sometimes we need to shake up our beauty routine to see better results.
Samples of both products will be available in this month’s Beauty Box!
Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty sample subscription box. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of beauty products. Click here to check out my Beauty Box 5 review.

Two chemicals found in commonly used beauty products are being blamed for an epidemic of skin allergies. MI, which is short for methylisothiazolinone, and MCI, which is short for methylchloroisothiazolinone; are both preservatives added to products to prevent unwanted growth of bacteria, yeast, and fungi.
Over recent years, dermatologists have seen a rise in the number of cases of allergic reactions. Exposures to these preservatives cause facial swelling, itching, redness, and hives. There has also been a rise in the amount of people diagnosed with eczema and other types of contact dermatitis. These reactions can be painful and unsightly.
These chemicals are widely found in shampoos, moisturizers, shaving creams, shower gels, and even baby wipes.
Products that contain the ingredients include Nivea body lotion and facial cleaning wipes, Wet Ones, Piz Buin 1 Day Long Lotion and L’Oreal Revitalift Laser Renew moisturizer.
Reps for both L’Oréal and Wet Ones say their products are safe.
It was hard to choose a favorite, but I really enjoyed the Rose Body Scrub the most. It smells like sweet roses and is the prettiest shade of blush. Simple Sugar products contain natural sugar and oils that help smooth rough skin. This scrub left my skin baby soft after my shower.
The Green Tea Facial scrub was also very nice. It smells so fresh – just like a shot of wheatgrass juice! Since it’s oil based, I would only recommend it for those with dry skin. It was too oily for my face so I used it as a body scrub and it worked perfectly.
I’m so happy I got to try Simple Sugars; the company’s creator and founder, Lani Lazzari was featured on ABC’s Shark Tank and since then Simple Sugars has increased it’s retail presence and will (hopefully) soon be offered in more stores across the country.

I absolutely love, love, love Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel! It’s definitely one of my all-time cult favorites, but there is nothing more that I love than trying new things.
Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Hydrating Gel is the latest oil-free hydrating gel to hit the market. It’s very similar to Clinique’s moisturizing gel, but with a few added extras. It has anti-aging benefits such as their new Tri-HA Cell Signaling Complex. It’s their latest breakthrough in the hunt for the fountain of youth. Basically what it does is helps your cells communicate with each other to help boost the natural production of hyaluronic acid in your skin. Okay so enough of the fancy scientific stuff – I love the lightweight oi-free texture, it’s lightly scented and cool to the touch. The only added ingredient I wished it had was SPF, but it works as a perfect nigh time moisturizer for oil-skinned girls!

Pump Up Your Moisturizer
Once the temps start falling, you should choose moisturizers that are thicker than your daily body lotion or face cream. Swap your lotion for a body butter and swap your moisturizer for a creamier one. Look for added ingredients like alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and urea – both are humectants that pull moisture from the air into your skin.
Don’t stop your summertime habits
Water intake and sunscreen use decreases during the winter for most. Drinking plenty of water helps your skin stay hydrated and wearing sunscreen year round helps protect you from the sun. The UV rays that bounce off of snow are just as damaging as summer rays.
Go easy on the hand sanitizer
Using hand sanitizers too often can strip the moisture from your hands. Instead of using the communal hand sanitizer at the office, you should bring your own. Look for one that doesn’t contain alcohol and always apply hand cream afterwards.
Get a humidifier
Home heating systems can really dry out your skin. Humidifiers are great because they add moisture to the air. They’re fairly inexpensive and since humidifiers help decongest your sinuses; it can also help reduce under eye puffiness.
Always carry a lip balm
The cold wind is one of lip’s biggest enemies. It dries out lips and habits like licking your lips only makes matters worse. Use a lip balm made with beeswax to create a barrier to protect your lips from the harsh weather. You can also apply some on dry cuticles and chapped noses.
